OFFICINA typographica KVISGAARDENSIS was established in 1980 as a non-commercial private printing office and museum by Bent Kvisgaard (born 1946). Bent qualified as a typographer in 1968 followed by qualification as a master printer 1972.
Having worked at newspapers, publishers, advertising agencies and printing offices – and has seen the changes in metods of production from lead type letterpress to offset and digital communication.
The following printing machines are used at KVISGAARDENSIS: an Eickhoff-proofing press from 1955, a Korrex Nürnberg press from 1970, a tabletop proofing press, and four hand platens from the period 1890—about 1980.
